Introduction
Built by Henri Hurault de Cheverny between 1624 and 1630, Cheverny is one of the great 17th-century classical castles of France.
It was the source of inspiration for Hergé's Marlinspike Hall (château de Moulinsart in the original French) in The Adventures of Tintin.
Opening Hours & Admission
Cheverny is open daily all year round from 9:15 am (9:45 am from October to March) to 6:15 pm (6:45 pm in July and August, 5:30 pm in October, 5:00 pm from November to March).
Admission to the castle and garden is 8.7 € for adults, 5.7 € children and students aged 7 to 25 years old, and free under 7 years old. Tickets that include the Tintin exhibition ("Les Secrets de Moulinsart") cost an extra 4.5 €.
